Slim Bloodworth
Sarah Donaldson
Before touring the States this veteran entertained audiences from all over Canada, The UK and Europe. Including the month long Edinburgh Festival in Scotland in the year 2007. A style all her own, Sarah's obsessive thoughts, logic and anxiety help her discuss the hardships of being a confident loser just looking to party.
Jen House
comedian, Jen House. After getting her start doing stand up as a ballsy fifth grader next to her dad on a cruise ship, House has made a name for herself as being one-of-a-kind in the comedy world, shocking audiences in the Motor City and beyond. Listen in and you'll see, her shazam, whizzbang style has a natural way of kicking audience square in the teeth with characters like "Hal King" - the long time MC for the Hell's Belle's Girlie Revue - and "Carlisle C. Carlysle J. Wentworthy"
- a regular at the monthly revue"Torch With A Twist", which opened for Sandra Bernhard at Detroit's Fringe Festival at The Music Hall.
Yes, it's all whistles and belles on House's non-stop ride to comedy's golden rainbow. Jen has also opened up for the nationally known Righteous Babe's "Bitch and Animal" not once, but three times. She opened the Hastings Street Ballroom with her own live sketch comedy shows "House on Hastings I and II". She has had her own open variety show "Alter Ego" and has acted in various productions at Detroit's underground theaters including the Planet Ant, Zeitgeist, and Abreact Theater. And was nominated for a 2006 Wilde Award for her one-woman show "Who's House?" which she wrote, acted, and produced. Just ask the local press, "Jen House has a white knuckle grip on your funny bone, and she's not letting go until you bust out laughing." -Real Detroit Weekly. She IS a natural. . . and owes it all to her Grandma, Violet House. Now that's Detroit pride.
Ava LaFey (burlesque dancer)
Ava LaFey's satirical sensationalism and political potency inspires and instigates while she bumps and grinds. While dressing in drag, femme or whatever, Ava mimics systems and assumptions as much as she questions her country. One could say she's not tied to binaries like she is to her bedposts! A part time radical cheerleaders, sex educator and a full fledged vegan, Ava is an avid lover of good porn and musicals, and adores when they're combined. Ava considers burlesque to combat the fear of expression, and admires the fierce and fabulous individuals who are committed to the absurd.
